Why did you join MedTech?
I’ve been a member of the MedTech society since the beginning of my university studies; when I discovered it at the Welcome Fair I knew I had to join. MedTech is a community of curious people, who share the passion for learning about the latest cutting edge medical technologies. So many students with diverse STEM backgrounds join in and form the largest MedTech society of Europe: attending conferences, talks, coding tutorials and the mentorship scheme for professional improvement, as well as going for fun socials, meeting likeminded people and building valuable connections on the way. If you are curious about MedTech, this is the place to be!
Area of Interest?
As a Mathematics student I find the applications of maths and different technologies (especially AI) in medicine truly fascinating, and so biomaths is my greatest passion. I’m especially interested in mathematical modelling of biological systems and AI innovations in medicine.
Favourite Podcast/Book (MedTech related)?
Books: “Hello World: How to be Human in the Age of the Machine (Hannah Fry)”, “Genome: The Autobiography of a Species In 23 Chapters (Matt Ridley)”, “Life on the Edge: The Coming of Age of Quantum Biology (Jim Al-Khalili, Johnjoe McFadden)”.
Fun Fact
I love hiking, camping & skiing, so if you don’t find me in the Main Library over some maths sheets, the next most likely place is out in nature. 🙂
